Penthouse apartment

My home is my castle, or so they say. After a few trips abroad, I was looking for a place to come back and could really call home. And now I’ve found it, a huge penthouse apartment near the city centre, with (plenty of) underground parking.

It’s got 2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms and a wonderful view over the city. It comes with 3 parking spaces (so will need to visit some local dealership soon), a gym and porter.

Not trusting my taste in furniture I hired an interior designer to help me create my bit of paradise. Only problem now is that I don’t want to go anywhere anymore……..

Goodwood - Festival of Speed

By now, it’s unmistakably clear that I like beautiful cars and speed. What better place to visit than the grounds of Goodwood House in West Sussex, England for the annual Festival of Speed.

The amount of rare cars is simply unbelievable, the scenery is extremely beautiful, and the action is continuous. New cars, Classic cars, Racing cars, Supercars, it’s all there.

And then the weather, the food, the drinks and the indescribable atmosphere, one thing is certain, I will be back next year.

London

Unlike the Big Apple, or the City of Light, London doesn’t have a widely known nickname, but that didn’t stop me from visiting the place after the British Grand Prix.

I had been to London before, but never stayed at the Savoy... so I did, I never had dinner at the Ivy.... so I did and I never watched a Wimbledon final from the grandstand.... so I did.....twice.

Then I saw some excellent musicians at Ronnie Scott’s, had a wonderful dinner-cruise on the Thames and bought some presents at Harrods.

As Samuel Johnson once said: A man tired of London is a man tired of life.......

Formula 1 (Silverstone)

A Formula 1 Grand Prix is always a special event. In the past I’ve visited the Belgian Grand Prix a couple of times. I simply bought the cheapest tickets (those without a seat) and got soaked without knowing who won the race in the end. A truly awesome experience, or so I thought…..

With a slightly different budget I headed to Silverstone. With 7 of the 11 teams based just down the road, the British Grand Prix can truly be called ‘Home of Formula 1’.

Not only was the weather better than in past experiences, with my Formula One Paddock Club ticket, I had access (and a choice of seats) to nearly everything on the circuit. Not to mention the excellent breakfast and lunch, including wine and champagne. On top of that, it was a very exciting race thanks to exploding Pirelli tyres

It wasn’t my first Formula 1 Grand Prix, and it definitely won’t be my last.
